SMARTPHONE JOURNALISM WORKSHOP AT FERGUSSON

Somebody asked me what gives me happiness other than my work of being a Television Reporter? I said Teaching, Coaching and Mentoring young students on Smartphone Filmmaking and Smartphone Journalism which is also known as Mobile Journalism ( MOJO).

The other day I was invited by Fergusson College Media Centre to conduct a day long workshop on Mobile Journalism for the students. It was a sheer pleasure to interact with the students offline in the beautiful campus of the college full of green foliage.

The enthusiasm of the students was palpable as they realized that they could do much more with their smartphones than just take selfies.

Having been a television journalist since the last over two decades. I have been on the ground zero in some of the biggest breaking news . I have covered major stories such as the Mumbai terror attack, German Bakery blast, devastating floods, landslides, general and state elections and several other big news.

While I am still working as a mainstream television journalist, I have now a new found mission, to help students become Smartphone Filmmakers and Mobile Journalists.

Thank you Fergusson College for giving me the opportunity of interacting with such bright students. I enjoyed as much as the youngsters.
